Health-Related Empowerment in Young Adults Living with Advanced Cancer: A Qualitative Study

The goal of this exploratory study was to better understand how young adults living with advanced cancer strive to maintain a sense of control in the context of an uncertain future. In addition, barriers and facilitators to empowerment are investigated in the context of their cancer care. The study findings have informed subsequent empowerment promoting strategies and interventions to best support this group of young individuals living with a precarious cancer diagnosis.
